Hi everyone. So one of my son's came to me and asked me to make him a shampoo bar of soap for his beard he wants something to make his beard a bit softer and condition it as well. So I'm wondering if this is possible. I'm also wondering if anybody would want to share a good shampoo bar recipe or have any ideas for a good shampoo bar. I understand sometimes people don't like to share their best recipes but made you could give me a few pointers and tips to make my own recipe or share a good recipe that's popular on line that everyone uses. I would really like everybody 's opinion and guidance on this. Thanks so much

I can’t weigh in on beard soap, but has your son ever tried beard oil? I made some for my son at his request and he loves it.
Yes he loves beard oil I have been thinking about making him some too! The reason he thought and wanted me to make a shampoo bar for him is because he is bald he doesn't buy shampoo and when I asked him why he wanted that he said hay man when your as bald as I am at my age (27) you treat your beard like it's gold lol I thought that was pretty funny he will never cut off his beard it's priceless for him haha! So because he doesn't want to buy shampoo for his beard he was hoping I could make a shampoo bar for him to wash it with. Work and safety board at his work said his beard has to go to ware a proper mask at work building log homes he said to them yah right I don't think so. So now he is buying a 500 dollar full face mask with a fan in side it so that work and safety board can't say anything. I guess it's really dangerous to breath in cedar dust all day long at work.

Oh thank you I'll try checking it out I think I found one thread about it sometimes I for get to try the search engine haha

When you search, try "beard soap" with the quotes. It looks like there are some threads that are more specific for that. There might be some recipes and thoughts in those.

If you decide to make beard oil, here’s a great place to start:

I originally used @AliOop recipe (which my son liked a lot), but then I subbed in olive squalane for meadowfoam because I no longer keep meadowfoam in stock. My final recipe is jojoba (43%), argan (40%), olive squalane (16%), essential oils (0.5%), vitamin E (0.5%) and ROE (0.05%)

What a great idea to use ROE! I'm going to include that in my recipe from now on. :)
