Sorry for all the confusion, folks... My explanation could have been better.
  • Yes, 1 donor bar for every 10 new bars. Since I didn't have soap scraps, I shredded one
  • I used the 100% lard soap because it was pure white (what I wanted) and already made
    • 100% lard
  • The recipe for the colored soap is fairly standard:
    • 30% coconut oil
    • 65% lard
    • 5% castor oil
  • Disregard the soda ash (on the blue ones). When that's washed off, the speckles are all that remain

Update: I just wanted to show the Ciaglia soap after two weeks of continual use. I'm very pleased with the even distribution of speckles. I like that the specks are all different shapes and sizes (more organic) vs. something like jojoba beads. I also think it would have looked even better had I mixed in a small portion of dark green speckles (maybe five white to every one dark green).
