After you take it out of the freezer, let it sit for about 10 minutes to start forming condensation. Then bang the end of it on a hard surface (concrete works well). Here is a video that shows this.

I and my soap peeps love the Gentleman's Lavender blend from EOCalc. It calls for clary sage, which is pricy, but I've left it out and it's still great.

I wouldn't be too worried. Just stay away from the "hot" EOs, which are most of the spice notes. And whatever you do use, stay in the recommended usage rates on EOCalc.com. I'm super sensitive to so many scents and things, but even I can use all of the ones mentioned on this thread. :)
