White bloom on wax tarts

Just started making candles, so I thought I'd make some wax tarts. I've used soy wax, and candle friendly scent at 5%. Colour is candle powder. They have come out ok and smell lovely, but there is a white bloom on the top, swirly white. I thought I'd mixed the wax thoroughly using a milk frother.

Is it not mixing enough or somethinf else? Thanks.

Soy wax is famous for its frosting. Sometimes just a light texture and sometimes it can be pretty extreme, looking like freezer burn with a coarse texture. Most chandlers either don't color their soy so that the frosting is less noticable, or just embrace it as a fact of life working with pure soy wax.

It does not change the scent throw of a soy tart, just the aesthetics

Yes, usually paraffin wax is blended with soy to cut back on the frosting. Chandlers call this kind "parasoy" blends. You can make your own blends or buy blends already formulated.
