You're getting close! The first soap you posted looks more like the real deal IMO, except for the missing pink, so if you could "just" combine the two soaps and then get the light-coloured outlining....

If only "just" were that easy, eh? :)

Tienne, what you thought was my first soap is really one of THEIR soaps, which is why it looks much closer to the real deal. That is their F&M soap. I posted it because MzMolly posted wondering what if the bar of my desires was one of their wonderful accidents and they couldn't reproduce it either? I think they can because they made the F&M soap. I also posted it because it really dose look like that one has only a surface treatment, although the Pink Sugar soap is slightly different and more appealing to me.

*Facepalm* Ah, of course, silly me. I didn't quite understand post #19, but now I get it. Thank you for the clarification, Newbie. What a shame though, coz I really thought you were getting close to nailing it. I agree with you that the second "real" soap is very similar indeed, but it doesn't contain some of the more exciting aspects, such as the outlining and the pink. The pink is fairly straightforward, but it's the outlining... hmm.

Is the original soap for sale? Maybe having one in your hand could help you dissect it. Is there a more detailed list of ingredients available somewhere? The contents of that list could tell you if there was indeed anything "grainy" added to the soap, but I still think it's all just mica. I'm by no means up to par on the FDA and INCI rules and all that in the U.S, but from what I've gathered, they would have to say if there was something like cinnamon in the soap, wouldn't they? (Since it can be an irritant?) The second original soap does makes me even more convinced though, that whatever is going on in the first soap, is not going on throughout the soap. (Except for the pink drops.)

Okay, I went to their site and I couldn't find the Pink Sugar soap, but I did see several other soaps that probably are made the same way. (Basically.) Here's pics of one that's very similar. It has the outlining feature and it's also just a surface pattern. The way the outlining looks makes me wonder if it isn't created by a reaction between the fragrance (in the base) and the pink colourant (perhaps no fragrance in that?). The outlining goes around each and every pink part and there's no way that can be from any extra pouring or additional drizzling of another colour. It definitely looks like the only additional colour added on top of the base, is the pink. Could the pink be some kind of natural colourant? Or pink mica with a dash of paprika or some such thing? That could account for some of the graininess. (I'm not well versed in natural colourants, but I bet some other folks would have an educated guess as to what could used.) If you zoom in you can see the pink has a graininess to it.

There are some other soaps there too with some very distinct grainy patterns on top and they are also in the colour blobs themselves and not in the batter. Check out these;

Yikes, I'm starting to feel like a spammer and I hope I'm being helpful, but here goes another post. :(

I took a look at some more of their soaps and have a look at this one! This one definitely makes me think there's been mica dusting going on in the soap you want to make, too. You can clearly see that the beveled edge does not have the feature and that it's a surface feature only. Mica dusting is definitely a part of their modus operandi.
