venison taste really changes according to the deer's diet, time of year, how it was harvested, how it was butchered, and how it was cooked.
When I lived in western WA I liked the deer there. NC and northern Idaho deer, not so much.I grew up in a farming area of Wisconsin where deer fatten up on farmer's crops. We couldn't tell much of a difference between venison & beef. In Montana it's different. Deer eat sagebrush, knapweed, bark and weeds, and they taste like it!
