just cut, still raw.. no beveling yet..

i got bored with tiger stripes, so i decided to try swirly wirly whatever swirl this time. it was quite a challenge to maintain the batter real thin all the time. you really need just emulsification for this, and i don't think my hands were fast enough to do the dots (my pipettes suck), in fact they were shaking (yea, i have a lil bit of tremor going on, lol).

i'm praying i'll have soap at the end! please don't separate... please don't separate

thank you Carolyn... oooo, i have gm in it  but not much.. i hope it's okay.. i only did a spatula mix and 2 quick (2 secs each) sb bursts (yea, i was that paranoid to have a too thick batter as my formula is quite high in palm). thanks for the reminder about hot formula, that didn't cross my mind. i'll certainly remember that next time when i do this technique again.

That looks awesome! You always take it up another level. I'm going into stalk mode waiting for cut pics. I haven't made soap for a couple of weeks now so I'm going to live vicariously through your creations.

Oh hell, I sound creepy.

Those swirls look great! They look like wispy heart-shaped butterflies :)

P.S. I think "swirly wirly whatever swirl" should be an official term for this swirl :)

aawww, thanks Derpina *smooch*... i'm dying to cut it too, but of course i must be good for the next 24 hrs.. meehh :(

Sage, lol! i honestly dont know what to call it, so yeah, swirly wirly whatever swirl for the time being :D this one was actually inspired by Ebru paintings by the Turkish. painting on water, so beautiful!

I just looked up those Ebru paintings. Great inspiration for soaping!

Oooooh, so pretty. Did you just fill your log mold up part way and use it like slab (that's what the picture looks like)? I just love how they turned out!

thanks again guys :)

@osso, yes, i just use my log mold and fill it halfway. it makes only 4 bars, which i think it's perfect for me since i'm still playing around. i have a slab mold which makes 12, which is waaayyy to much for 'play' batches.

I love the "hearts" technique you used! You colors are beautiful and it looks fabulous. I did hearts like that before- it's a fun technique and beautiful. Make sure to post pics of cut bars :)
Cheers!
Anna Marie
