Soap top swirling

just cut, still raw.. no beveling yet..

i got bored with tiger stripes, so i decided to try swirly wirly whatever swirl this time. it was quite a challenge to maintain the batter real thin all the time. you really need just emulsification for this, and i don't think my hands were fast enough to do the dots (my pipettes suck), in fact they were shaking (yea, i have a lil bit of tremor going on, lol).

i'm praying i'll have soap at the end! please don't separate... please don't separate :think:

They look gorgeous! I see absolutely wrong. I am sure it will not seperate unless you had a hot forumla, milks honeys etc

thank you Carolyn... oooo, i have gm in it :shock: but not much.. i hope it's okay.. i only did a spatula mix and 2 quick (2 secs each) sb bursts (yea, i was that paranoid to have a too thick batter as my formula is quite high in palm). thanks for the reminder about hot formula, that didn't cross my mind. i'll certainly remember that next time when i do this technique again.

This is so fun, you can also do it with only micas in oil to get a different effect.

Oooooh, so pretty. Did you just fill your log mold up part way and use it like slab (that's what the picture looks like)? I just love how they turned out!

@osso, yes, i just use my log mold and fill it halfway. it makes only 4 bars, which i think it's perfect for me since i'm still playing around. i have a slab mold which makes 12, which is waaayyy to much for 'play' batches.

I love the "hearts" technique you used! You colors are beautiful and it looks fabulous. I did hearts like that before- it's a fun technique and beautiful. Make sure to post pics of cut bars
