As per the title, would folks mind doing a quick sanity check of this recipe? I've not created one without olive oil before, but given its current price I decided to formulate a recipe higher in lard than usual (I've always liked lard soap), and for the first time I'll be using rice bran oil as my main liquid oil, since it's currently half the price of olive oil.

I'm fairly sure it looks decent, but the way my brain works these days, I don't want to waste ingredients testing it if there's something glaringly awful that I've missed.

Thank you!

Looks like a decent recipe to me. I recently made soap with 48% lard and haven't tested it yet, but I don't expect it to be very different from my other recipes. Good luck!

Thanks both! 😁

If you’re aiming for a firm, mild bar that produces a creamy leaning lather, that’s what this recipe should produce. The linoleic at 11% will contribute some slip and help with larger bubbles.
Yep, that sounds about right!

These answers give me the confidence to go ahead with my test batch, hopefully later this week when a friend is visiting to make soap. 😊
