I am curious if anybody has any ideas what could cause the weird shading in the Caribbean Blue and Plum Dusk portions of this bar. It is throughout the loaf and throughout each bar. It has cured for 10 weeks now with no change at all since I first cut it. I initially lightly sprayed alcohol for soda ash, but this isn't soda ash. I have used the exact same recipe with those same micas for years and never had any issue of any kind that resembles this. The only difference is the fragrance oil - Blueberry and Thyme from BB. The bar is CP Goat Milk Soap (like all of mine - same recipe). I am always the first guinea pig for my soap bars and the smell and lather is wonderful. It is only the weird shading - no lumps or clumps or texture issue - only shading! Ideas?
I showed it to my adult daughter who said she thought I intentionally did it to make it look like some kind of gemstone. Okay. I'll take that. :) But I am really curious about your ideas and thoughts.
