Next "Soap n' Tell" Challenge

I'd be game, not that I make THAT much soap (just finished my 2nd batch ever) . I like the more abstract ideas like "Spring/seasons", "Period of time", or "Nature".

Chris, That's perfect. We did the first SnT primarily as a learning experience. I learned something from every soap that was presented, and having a theme helped to focus on a specific idea.

Hi all! I'm in as soon as we pick a theme! My votes would be for creative molds, the elements (earth, wind, fire & water) or the 4 seasons (summer, spring, fall & winter)

"Remember, there is no spoon" The Matrix. That is to say, there are basically no "rules" expect those we impose upon ourselves. Personally, I like having a broad theme because it forces me to narrow my focus and maybe not simply go to something I already know. If we all just show our latest project, that seems like what we do all the time. I like to compare how I approached a theme, versus others' take on the same idea (e.g. Where I saw coffee and beignets in Mardi Gras, Shawnee saw voodoo and history). I'm every bit as interested in the individual's thought process and approach as I am the final product. But I'm up for whatever the group decides.

I like having one theme at a time...each person can use their imagination to expand upon that theme, so there are no exclusions.
For example:
If the theme was Bodies of Water...one person might make a beach theme with actual sand as an exfoliant on the bottom layer, blue waves with white crests on top, and scented with Tropical Coconut FO...while the next person may make a green soap scented with Cypress EO to represent the Cypress trees that form rings around ponds. Both would qualify under the Bodies of Water theme (IMO)...which is why I love the idea of these "challenges". We each get to express our creativity within the loose confines of the theme. No winners, no losers...just artistic expression.

We could do a poll . . . or DW could just pick something. I know there are no rules and I don't want there to be, but things just work better when there's somebody in charge, ya know? Not like the boss or anything, just someone to coordinate. I vote for DWinMadison to be the coordinator. We could start to do this a little more often, like a new theme every two weeks - that way if it was a theme you just couldn't get into it's okay cause another one is coming in two weeks. (Now I sound like the boss. Sorry. )

I know how you feel...A couple of songs members listed from the year they were born were the year I graduated high school or college!!!! I'm especially feeling it this week because we are shipping our oldest off to France on Sunday for a semester abroad. I swear it was yesterday I was carrying him on my shoulders.

I was hoping Genny might know of a way to post a poll via the forum. Of course, then we'd need a poll for what to include in the poll. roblem: If the poll's not feasible, we can pick another topic, but it doesn't have to be me. If it's me (and I'm on Jeopardy), I'll take "Song Titles" for $100, Alex, since that seems to have garnered the most interest/chatter.
