Hi everyone,

Hoping to get some feedback on a lip scrub recipe I was looking at. I want to make sure to include coffee in them!

Recipe
2 tbsp CO
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp ground coffee
1 tbsp honey

I plan on putting these into g, but wanted to get opinions before I went out and bought more CO!

I've just added sugar to my regular lip balm recipe. I don't add honey though as it's water soluble and may seep out. But I agree that you need to add some cocoa butter or beeswax to the mix.

I think the issue with coffee is that people will need to wipe their face after using it. The sugar melts, the coffee grounds won't.

What do you think is the best way to get coffee flavoring/scent in there without actually putting in ground coffee?

I think you need to add either bees wax or coco butter to your recipe. You might check out this site for more info. https://www.soapqueen.com/?s=lip+scrub

Thank you for the suggestion! Any thoughts on how I could add a coffee flavor without using actual coffee grounds?

I was thinking of mixing coffee butter with cocoa butter... I had also looked into coffee seed oil, espresso fragrance, and mocha fragrance.

Make sure you are using a lip-safe or edible fragrance, which is usually called a flavor oil, not a fragrance oil. You can get coffee flavor oils from several suppliers. You can also use coffee butter, which is coffee seed extract mixed with some hard oil - could be vegetable oil, could be coconut oil. The supplier should have a list of ingredients. You could also infuse your oils with coffee grounds, then strain them out before making the scrub.

grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, vitamin e, brown sugar, and lip safe flavoring oil, some kind of preservative since they putting their fingers in it.. if it potted.
or mix a nourishing lip balm but you must wait until the balm is almost setting to stir in the sugar ,turbinado etc

La Vida Latte from Elements Bath and body has so far been well received.

Instant coffee is another option for a melt-able coffee flavor. I don't drink coffee anymore and never really liked instant, so I don't have any idea if anyone makes a good one flavor-wise, though.

Hello. First time poster here.
I made a very simple yet highly effective lip scrub. It moisturizes gently removes any dry skin and tastes yum.
Coconut oil
Rosehip E.O
Caster sugar
food colour
Anything more coarse than caster sugar, is going to damage the skin on your lips.
