I don't know what to call this, but a lot of people do something to the top of the soap that makes it look like frosting. Do you know what I mean? It looks like you might take a frosting knife and give it peaks and valleys, and it looks just delicious! How do I do that, and what is that called?

Thanks!
Stacie

It's whipped soap!

Google "Nizzys Whipped Soap".... it's a great website that will tell you all about whipped soap and what you need/how to make it. Sorry, I don't know the direct link!

Yes, Nizzy's whipped soap is awesome!

I get an effect like I have iced a cake on the top of my ordinary CP soap by waiting until thick trace (when the batter is already in the mould) and using a teaspoon to sort of dip and drag. If you want a whipped cake frosting look then make whipped soap. If you just want a textured look then try the teaspoon method. I have also used a small spatula with good effect too.

pour your soap at a thicker trace or allow it to set up some in the mold and give it a swirl with a knife, the back of a spoon or spatula. think frosting a cake.

I looked at the whipped soap, and it looks really neat, but that's not what I meant. I think it must be done with the spoon or spatula, so I'll give that a try. Thank you!

I do the same as above .. wait until it's at a thick trace ... almost about to gel .. for this bar I used a skewer because I wanted a thinner fudge look but have done in my log mold with a butter knife or spatula to make a frosting looking top.
