Coconut Milk Powder?

I am trying to formulate an emulsified coconut scrub and was wondering if a small amount of coconut milk powder along with a preservative and antioxidant would be a reasonable addition? Because it’s powdered coconut does that mean that shelf life would be significantly decreased? I’ve been looking all over and don’t really see a lot of info besides some dubious Pinterest links 😬
 
I would be cautious of adding any type of milk powder/ plant powder as you are just introducing 'bug food' and would need to ensure that it is very well preserved to avoid microbial contamination.

I'd be very wary of adding that to a scrub even with a preservative. I don't know how new you are to this - but not all preservatives work the same; some work at lower pHs, some at higher. Coconut naturally contains sugars, and many coconut powders have added sugars. Mold, mildew, bacteria + coconut sugar + water from wet hands + wrong preservative system = trouble.

Are you familiar with Susan Swift's blog? SwiftCraftyMonkey? Filled with all sorts of formulating info - it will make your head swim! You may need to subscribe to the tune of $1 or 3 per month, but she knows her stuff.
 
Thanks everyone. That makes sense. I figured if I couldn’t find a lot of info on it then it was likely sketchy—just wanted to check. 🙂
