    Petroleum Jelly

I fear I have over lubricated my molds! The soap itself (the part not touching the Petroleum Jelly) is fine and beautiful, but the other sides are, well, greasey and unpleasant looking. I'm thinking I will just wait for them to cure, then wash it off? it's not like it's going to dry out. Has...

    Lemongrass as an additive...

I've infused olive oil with lemon grass in the crock pot...I love doing infusions because the scent seems to stay so much longer. but I'm not really an 'additive' kind of soaper. Powder sounds like the best idea though, lemongrass is just very tough and woody, even chopped small.

    "Manly" Fragrence

Everyone stay posted! "soap for servicemen and women" is in the works! I changed it to "servicemen" because obviously every branch is being represented over there. I'm looking into how this can be done and the regulations involved in sending packages with no specific addressee. should be...

    Soap cutters

I couldn't find that type of cutter where I am, so I just used a regular wide putty knife; it worked alright but I think I should invest in one of those soon! :)

anybody make soap with rosemary eo?

I just recently made a batch where I infused about 20oz of Soybean oil with fresh rosemary in the crock pot. I put it on low and swapped the old spriggs for new ones every 4 hours or so. The rosemary smell was SUPER strong and a bit overwhellming in the oil at first. (the finished infused oil...

Exactly, beachgurl! He's a soldier..he tells me it's actually really cold over there right now, and he has uber sensitive skin so it's probably dry and ichy. .:( I'm obsessed with superfatting anyways, so it'll be great :)

It all sounds wonderful! I'm excited to experiment :!: Thank you all! doxies: I think you have something there with the chocolate soap; it goes right along with the beer soap idea: anything that smells like something you can eat! plus it would be a great treat, he doesn't get sweets that...

    Cleaning Equipment

well I cleaned my working services right away, of course. what my REAL concern is I suppose, is cleaning the tools in the same sink as my baby bottles. I like the idea of letting almost everything sit and cure with the soap and cleaning only some things right away. you all have such...

    Cleaning Equipment

I have just made my first batch of cold pressed soap, which was very successful. Immediately following, I rinsed off all of my implements with a garden hose, but didn't really clean them all that "thoroughly". There was still some bits of soap left in the pot and on some tools. The lye-water...
