    Hair wax (not bikini!)

I made a hair wax that I really like. I read that Shea was a little gunky on caucasion hair, and builds up so left it out. Extra Virgin Coconut was about 30 %, with some Jojoba, candelilla wax, castor wax, a touch of Castor Oil. I added a little gold mica, and it really catches the light. Sorry...

Anyone have a solution for lining moulds??

I just wanted to say..I used silicone baking sheets, they are $5 at Go Lo. 1 sheet made 1 small mould lining (size of the IKEA drawers) though I used 1 and a bit for my larger ones. I did it 2 ways, 1st was to cut the small sides seperate, the rest as a sheet, ie long sides and bottom in 1. Was...

    sugar scrub

I have been making the soap scrap scrub for a while, and it hold up really well. One of my testers had a non preserved scrub she used for 7 months with no problems, however she is scrupulous about not getting it wet, i wouldnt recommend no preservative for anyone else.

I also got a goat baby milk formula, very cheap. It worked great. As did a low lactose mix of dried milks made for pets. Worth a try for you maybe?

How to make a CP soap mould?

Just wanted to add..if you have an IKEA near you they sell a small chest of drawers..9 drawers to a set for $22 which work well for molds..small batches ( I get 7 x 1 and a bit " soaps each drawer) I guess around 1 kg each drawer. If you hate lining, the discount store sells silicon mats for...

    real avocado flesh in soap

I have done avocado in a tea tree soap. Not bad, but not as good as cucumber, which has been my fave so far. It did add a certain amount of fat I think as it killed a bit of the bubbles. Worth a try, but not a favourite. On a par with banana I think, which I wanted to love, and didnt really...

Soybean oil, is it found in supermarkets?

Soybean I have just started adding about 10% soybean to my batches and even though it was to see if it would help lower batch prices, i really like the addition. I have found ESCENTIALS OF AUSTRALIA to be great for all my base oils. https://www.escentialsofaustralia.com/p ... .php?gid=7 20...

If you are worried about burning, I find honey powder added at trace has thew same effect, but no over heating. I dont know if you are able to get some, but its lovely stuff. Great in scrubs too..

Do you worry about your pipes and septic system??

I just wanted to add that i had to get a plumber out recently due to blockages...I hadnt been cleaning off enough of the soap stuck to my pots, and the plumber said that anything more solid than water can turn to sludge at the bottom of the pipes, causing blockages. He had to clean out a lot of...

    Hello from OZ

I am a new member too, from NSW. Just wanted to add, I find https://www.escentialsofaustralia.com/index.php to be the cheapest base oil suppliers. If you are near me (Penrith) and wanted small amounts, let me know, I buy in 20 kg bags, so would be no trouble selling off a couple kilos. This is a...
