    Packaging for guest sized bars?

If it were me I would just wrap them in freezer paper, shiney side up and use a stamp / even a custom made stamp for the outside. Or a sticker....since I'm not sure ink will dry on the shiney side. Clean, Crisp Cheap.

    Fels Naptha soap ?

Vic, I'm glad you asked this question. I thought it was just soap like any other on the grocery shelf. Saltysteel thanks for the answer. Wow! I think I will share this on my blog.

    Great packaging options for US'ers.

It is probably cheaper to buy them in bulk. But, if you are in a pinch, need a gift box....you can make it yourself. Just google a box template (wish I had time to do it for you) and make your own box then cut out the designer hole either by drawing your design on and then cutting it out with a...

    Simple question on MP soap

Thanks SilverMaple. This will probably sweet as I just picked it up at a local craft store. I'll wait a few days then before wrapping.

    What would you do??

juicypeach Hp is easier, no worries, throw it all in and let it do it's thing. Watch a couple of videos. When the island disapears I give it another 10 min and then give it the zap test. I keep doing that every 10 min. till I don't get zapped....then add my color and FO's and I'm done.

Show me your soaps with labelling and/or wrapping!

Saltysteele, it was an accident. That soap did not turn out like I wanted, except for the 3-D pyramid part. But thank you for the complement. kitn that is a gorgeous bag! R U sharing?;) I would like to find some unbleached parchment paper to wrap my soap in.

Show me your soaps with labelling and/or wrapping!

I mostly do cigar bands. But I recently did this Egyptian soap and thought it should be wrapped accordingly:) The white scroll on top is the ingredient list.

    Felting soap...

Sometimes there is only one way to find the answer:) I went to town last night and bought some wool! Ouch! that stuff is expensive!! Came home and felted some soap. Now I can see that the wool dries a lot faster than I would have thought! Edited to add pic: I did these last night and...

    Felting soap...

I just thought of something else.....could it be that the thickness of the felt makes a huge difference? If it is too thick...it takes too long to dry. Maybe that's the key to it not getting mold and mildew.

    immed acc why?

I don't know but when you mentioned RT lye and the WARM oils.....could there have been too much of a temp. difference that could have caused the problem. And of course it could have been the FO. I have had problems when using my lye at RT. So when I say Room Temp, I'm talking about 100%. In...

    Felting soap...

The question was never really answered about the felt staying 'clean'. Someone mentioned a preservative in the soap. I too wonder if that would work. Otherwise to pick up a moldy felted bar of soap would be really discusting. It's like using a wash rag over and over again and never washing it...

    A crumbly mess--HELP!!!

amanda I don't know. I very gently and very carefully cut all of mine up when I unmolded the soap. Use a guitar string or a cake leveler that has the wire. And do it very slowly.

Video of me making Beer soap

Great job! I use a miter box too....I marked the top of mine with (black marker) 1/2", 1" and 1-1/2" increments across. That way you don't have to use a tape measure.

    A crumbly mess--HELP!!!

I've had crumbly soap before. The first one I thought I would just rebatch it. It was crumbly after rebatch so I just let it sit because I hated to throw it away. I'm glad I did because it has been the hardes longest lasting bar I have ever had. IT is a great bar! Just took it a lot longer to...

    TD problems?

Intresting. I have never had problems....well, once but it was my fault; I got in too big a hurry and did not mix it well. Maybe it is the brand or the supplier? Where did you get your T.D.? (if you don't mind me asking)

    Soap Scum

P.S. a quick hot rinse of the shower/tub is all it takes.

    Soap Scum

The hard water theory has merit. If I use salts (which I do often, or milk baths) I have less scum. But I will also say that some of my soap has more scum than others. In the long run, it is worth it for the benefits you get.
