I finally got my videos posted of me making beer soap. It was only my second batch, so I'm pretty slow and we recorded almost eveything-- so it's in 5 parts and rather...um....long...but if you've got some time to kill, come and have a look:

Before I saw where you were from I recognized the Canadian accent! I will have to watch the rest of it when I have time.

My husband and I live in Minnesota and when he travels down south they always ask him if he's from Canada. I love Canadian accents. So crisp and clean!

How fun! I haven't watched the whole thing yet...it's bedtime...but I wanted to comment and say I'm excited that I have a soap making video to watch. They make me happy!

Juicybath, great vids. I watched them all. I love that the neighbor is making a gazebo next door and I love your little dog. Your vid was very informative. Very well done.

Oooh! Thank you so much for this videos! They're really informative and helpful considering I'm getting my beer ready to try it too one of these days!

Juicybath,

I love your videos. You have the right demeanor for the camera and make it very clear as to what you are doing. Isn't it fun to experiment? I so wish there was someone that lived close to me so we could create some things together. Oh, well..My evil twin and I will have to start putting our theoretical heads together .

Thank you so much! We had fun (and a little stress!) making the video. My hubby is such a perfectionist with the editing. Next time we won't film every minute of the process-- much too long!
I posted another vid of the cutting of my Creamsicle Cobble soap yesterday.

Great job! I use a miter box too....I marked the top of mine with (black marker) 1/2", 1" and 1-1/2" increments across. That way you don't have to use a tape measure.

A miter box?! Is that all that was? Sheesh....

I really liked the videos. I especially liked, although unfortunate for you, the seizing part because I've never seen a seize and now I know what it is.

So we just need to keep an eye on your YouTube channel huh? Lovin' it!

So clever with the clamp deal! I'm going to get one for my mold.

Thanks everyone!
The beer soap feels and smells better everyday. (I visit it often) :D I trimmed a bit off to make it more rectangle and the chunks are huge because I'm not great at cutting yet. It was fun though. I want to try the beer soap again- but this time no cocoa so I get a lighter shade and I'll boil the alcohol out of the beer first, then freeze it in ice cube trays before mixing with the lye.

Thanks for sharing! Haven't tried beer soap yet. Did get so tickled at you repeatedly commenting on the awful smell of the lye mixture. Good warning for when I get to try it. My wish list of different soaps to try to make is getting longer and longer.

Great video! What are the qualities that the beer adds to the soap? I've been wanting to try some but I want to know what to tell people about the addition of beer.
Thanks,
Opalgirl

**swoon Edward**

haha, I'm not allowed to swoon. I'm happily married :)

I'm not sure what qualities the beer adds, but I think it's just cool to be able to say "This soap is made with BEER"
...and then everybody always says "I hope you didn't waste any GOOD beer"

:D

When a soap seizes, I figured the stick blender would make matters worse
instead of better? ???

I froze my beer in the past and then thawed it to cold before adding the lye. I think I was the one who mentioned freezing it. I just haven't actually tried it frozen yet. That was next on my list. I was hoping for less stink. Maybe you'll beat me to it!

Any girl who soaps in her funky PJ bottoms is alright with me. :) Great videos, I subscribed. I just love other people's soap videos, and watching the differen't ways we all do it. It's like crack to me...lol

I know what you mean! I've been riveted to YouTube watching other soapers in action for 2 weeks, trying to learn all I can.

Yep- I'm big into my funky PJ pants. I wear 'em all the time. Can you tell I work from home?

:D
