    Sodium Lactate Problems

3 oz of water is quite a bit. I do not see where you have told us how much NaOH you are using for your batch - but if it is the default that most calculators use then you are looking at 28%-29% lye solution. even 1% change in the concentration matters.

What happens when you add extra water to a recipe?

This is not correct. It is the sugar in the coconut milk that causes extra heating. The extra water lowers the temp that the soap will gel tho - So it might appear to get hotter because it gels easier.

    Sodium Lactate Problems

Using more liquid actually makes it more likely to overheat because it lowers the temperature that your soap gels. I am betting putting it in the fridge actually makes cracking more likely. The colder top side of your soap is not able to expand as the inside heats up, so it cracks due to the...

I will have to look at my notes at home. I want to say about 780 g of oil - about what I would put in a crafters choice 1501.

    Fish oil soap?

According to this: http://www.eccofeed.com/fish-oil-min-25-epadha It is 187 mg KOH/g. DeeAnna has posted before how to convert the KOH value to the NaOH value. But I did not see the type of fish the oil came from - so that might make a difference.

Fragrance Oil similar to Gain Detergent Original Scent

Most lye calculators go by oil weight because water weight is variable depending on the lye concentration you use. That being said - you can do either. Go with whatever works for you, neither is wrong.

Can homemade soap block the drain?

DeeAnna has a toutorial on how to add citric acid to your soap. You have to calculate the extra caustic to add to offset the acid. As for superfat - liquid soap shou have a SF of 3% or less. If this is for dish washing you could even do a slight negative superfat (like -1 or -2 %).

Help! What Did I Do Wrong & Can It Be Fixed?

As most people learned in high school, thanks to Mr Bradbury, paper burns at 451F. (there are differing thoughts about this - but most of the temps you find thown about are between 400 - 500F.) Wax paper is not a good idea with soap, especially in the oven. The wax coating can melt and...

Can homemade soap block the drain?

Just like bar soap, liquid soap can create soap scum if you have hard water and this can clog pipes. So if you have hard water and are not using sodium citrate or EDTA or some other chelator, then yes it can clog your drain.

Has anyone ever used Nutiva palm shortening in their soap?

I'd just use it as palm, and lower my sf by 2%. ETA: I would also keep my coconut oil lower than my usual - probably no more than 15%

    liquid soap from bar soap

No, you do not have to cook liquid soap paste. I've followed Susie's process, as have a bunch of people on the forum. No cooking, no neutralization.

    All Natural

The caramel smell can depend on the type of honey. Very dark floral sources like buckwheat can smell like caramel. But you are right - it should smell very floral usually. But I don't mind bee bits in my honey if I get it from an apiary.
