would a massage bar stand up to a professional application??

Do you mean small 'single use' massage bars? I'm not trying to jump all over your idea, but as a consumer (and, as previously mentioned, a picky one at that ) if I went for a massage & they tried to re-use a massage bar on me that they had already used on someone else, I would be out that door so fast...

Another thought, is how much more expensive a massage bar would be in terms of labour to produce it - you have to melt, mix, mold, let set, unmold, package, keep cool to stop it from melting. A massage oil is mixed, packaged, done.

thats a good point, didnt think about it they would probably have to be small for single use for sure...id feel waaay nasty about using one on multiple people...it would be cool for like an upgrade to a treatment.. ie buy a massage bar and get a special 10 min. foot treatment or something lol....
