It has to be bright pink; very bright pink! All my oils and butters are white except for the olive oil, which is yellow. I will be using a light yellow honeysuckle fragrance, so please keep you fingers crossed for me so I don't get a soap on a stick and the color will come out the way they like it.
I might even add some titanium dioxide to the batch lighter. Wish me luck ! This will for making a soap batch first thing tomorrow.

Soapbuddy, I've already crossed fingers for you! But I KNOW, you are sooooooo good, that the soap will be perfect, just how you want. Happy new year and thank you for your help and kindness.

You have so much experience, I can't imagine this won't turn out well for you. Here's hoping the gremlins stay far away. Happy New Year!

Thank you everyone, but I think the soap gremlins were at my house today. The batch accelerated trace, even with just a whisk. I had thick soap within 20 seconds. I poured it into the mold as fast as I could. I didn't get the chance to pour the thickened soap still in the bottom of the pot before the soap in the pot started to rice. I ended up not using the soap from the bottom of the pot. In the mold, the soap got hard very quick and started to gel, despite my best efforts not to. It's now in the freezer as I'm hoping it won't overheat.

So sorry to hear that soapbuddy. I was feeling all happy and positive reading all the good wishes from folks and then wham! read your post :(

Hope you are able to recover or make a new and gremlin-free batch.

A question about your post though... what does "going to rice" mean?

Ricing means it starts to get little, rice like grains all through the batch that separate and will not mix back in. That's what started to happen in the bottom of the soap pot. That's why I didn't use what was in the bottom. Depending how it comes out, I'll post some pics.

Awgh, that stinks, Soapbuddy. :(

One way ricing can occur is when a fragrance oil decides to misbehave and the resulting soap actually looks like it has little pieces of rice in it. It's time to beat it into submission and stick it in the post.

Oop! I mean mold.
