I don't think I can soap this weekend. I have to design and sew a new pocket onto a backpack and also sew netting onto the bottom of our tarp tent. It sounds like too much work. I might do a bar of M&P scented with green tweed (my sniffy sample) for my brother.

Ew sewing. :::makes cross with fingers:::  Soap is better. Screw the backpack...

LOL!! I wish! Hubby is begging me with sugar on top so I promised.

I got some Guiness and am going to try some beer soap. Another batch of castille too.

Every guy I talk to about my beer soap wants a Guinness soap. Anything else is unacceptable. Good choice!

Does the KIND os beer matter? I mean, other than for reasons only in the head of the purchaser?

My understanding is that darker beers make a darker soap. And the maltier ones add some scent. :?

Oh...well if hubby wants you to, by all means. He IS after all, digging my soap. He can have whatever he wants. In fact, sew TWO pockets on! LOL!!

Right now I'm trying the rebatch in 2 plastic zip locks. I'm cooking down a bag full of scraps to send the Clean the World. I just didn't feel right about sending the scraps themselves, and I have been wanting to try this so I figured what the hay.

I hope they are freezer bag kind! The other kind will melt! They also need to be double-bagged. The 2nd bag provides extra protection.

A Mei tai carrier is usually a large, thick rectangle of fabric with long fabric straps at the four corners. The bottom 2 tie around your waist, the baby goes in the carrier (usually facing mommy) and the top straps go over your shoulders, around your back, and tie in the front to hold baby securely to the body. You can also use them to back-carry, though it takes a little finagling to get them back there safely (for me anyway) or to side-carry older babies. ;) I have a few different ones I use and love them! :D

Congrats Kitn on your upcoming g-baby.

I am working on developing my website ---so I am experimenting with my recipes. I have never HP or CP before. I went from MP direct to HP and the transition has been so easy and smooth.

I will be experimenting with the basics of HP. Making 6 bars at a time with my bakingware cake pans. 9x9 pan

I have perfected my oils for a Quick Trace that traces in 2 minutes LITERALLY !! and I mean it has made HP smooth and easy to complete unlike my very first attempt at HP which took tracing 10 min.

So I am experimenting with perfection this weekend.

Now I need to learn how to make the top parts of my soap smooth.

Thank you .

LJA It is called an asian baby carrier , when I had babies we used snugglies (sp) to carry babe around , now they have these mai tais . I am so confuzzled and frustrated with the thing I had to quit for a bit . I don't have a pattern and the tut I am relying on isn't great .I have it 3/4 done , yeah !! I think I will make my soap and go back to it later , much later

Who knew?! :)

No soaping for me this weekend :( ; my dear granddaughter helped me strip wallpaper in my den so I'm painting...as I write this, I'm waiting for the primer to dry, thought I'd drop in here to drool over everybodies soap projects!

No soaping for me this weekend; I had to return the scale that I've been borrowing and the one I ordered hasn't arrived yet. So I'm drooling over some soapmaking books that just came in through interlibrary loan, especially The Handmade Soap Book by Melinda Coss.

Can't wait until next week when I get to make up for lost time! ;-)

I will probably rebatch my BEAUTIFUL new shave soaps that due to me being silly have a few stray lye crystals in them. They look so perfect... and I made them with gm so heating them will make them brown!!!! (I tried not heating on a rebatch recently and it was a mess)

I might make a new batch of shave soaps to see how they are with no douchebaggery involved.

I'll probably make some more face cream and lotion as I FINALLY perfected my recipe!!! My debate here is whether or not I should try to doctor what I already have made to try to get it up to par or just to trash it (it's not bad, but it's not nearly as good as the new stuff). What do you guys think? The hardest thing about doctoring the new batch is that I've already used/given away a fair amount of it so I couldn't really calculate how much stuff to add.

Well I thought I was going to have more batches done but I just got one done although I don't know if it was successful.

I'm getting ink and going to work on a few more recipes.

uhg I hate rebatching! i need to do some too though, i have a ton of soaps I made with a recipe i ended up fixing a few months back, they are ok, but kinda soft..had hoped they would get better but just hate them now..LOL

I made a Alkamar dupe with pink and lavender swirls, I bought a few Lush dupes, and I am saving my scraps, so I can make a Lush smelling bar, well that's the idea!
