I cut my latest batch of ZNSB. Good news is the new stickblender worked well and even though there are a few tiny bubbles, there are vastly less than before and could just be user error. Unfortunately, I managed to mess this batch up, too. I'm guessing the sort of swirly chopstick thing I did is causing this sort of wispy discoloration. I've made this recipe for a couple years now and never had this happen before so I have no idea why it's suddenly happening now.

I'm playing with designing labels. Not my skill set at all.
Wasn't mine either. Really, it quite intimidated me and so I put it off, put it off, put it off.....you get the picture :) Until I found Online Labels and their Maestro Designer. GAME CHANGER!!! Now I actually look forward to that creative aspect, somedays even more than the soap part (especially since I started having everything Insta-Tracing -- beyond pudding and straight to done. So, I didn't have anything to actually label, per se, but it became the fun part. LOL!!

I make a soap with pumice and Kaolin clay. Together it's so mild yet still exfoliating. My BIL ordered 5 bars.

I love kaolin!!

So far, today’s soapy thing was driving almost 2 hours round-trip to buy some oils from a soaper who is closing her small business. Her cocoa butter was less than three dollars per pound (corrected my math after doublechecking)! Worth the drive.
That's a really good deal! How is your soaping station coming along? :)

I had given some coconut + clay [kaolin + red sandalwood/green clay] soap to a few people and they said they liked them lots, so I am feeling super buoyed today! I organized my supplies and infused olive oil in alkanet root powder. I'm getting more olive oil to infuse annatto seeds and Himalayan rhubarb next!

Ordered calendula petals and received a pack of dried up dusty flowers with barely any petals. I live to fight another day...

It is in pretty good order now, thank you! I even did a bunch of soapy, lotiony dishes, and destashed a box of craft items to a friend who leads Sunday school. I now know what supplies I actually have, and where they are. So nice!

Do you use a mortar and pestle to grind the pumice? Asking because I got pumice stone and ground by hand. But the texture was to course for him. This time round I re-ground the pummeled pumice in a coffee grinder. 🤨 Don’t think that’s good for the grinder though.

You can buy it preground. :)

Oh no, that is to much work for me. I just buy pumice from WSP. It comes in fine or course I believe.

It took several months to find a two sided utility sink to replace my old broken mold gross utility sink. I am SO into it and feel super grateful!!! I know y’all can understand.
I hear ya on that. We have an ancient two-sided concrete sink. We should replace it because it slopes the wrong way and the metal base is rusting -- but we're hanging onto it because it has two sides. Congrats.

Why is lumber so stinking expensive? Ugh. $200 for shelving material, 8 boards!, for my craft shed and not even close to enough.

At least I got a decent start on my shelves lol

Just finished up a late night soapy session.

Made a clover and aloe scented sunflower slab soap. Any recommendations for a good small slab mold a deep individual rectangle molds? I used a small silicone cake pan.

Also wanted to test a new scent coriander and salted olive. So far I'm liking the interesting scent notes in that. The batter thickened up pretty quickly after I split it for the 2 soaps so imnot sure if I mixed in the fragrance enough. I guess I will see tomorrow.
