Seems like the most common size to cut soap at is 3.5" wide x 2.5" tall x 1" thick, though some people (like me) like thicker, heartier bars.

What size do you like to cut your soap?

Yep, mine are pretty much that size too! I would like to make them thicker but the only boxes (which I really like) I can find in Canada are 1" thick.

Mine are hockey pucks made in 3" PVC pipe.
I usually cut about 3/4" thick but I'm not always exact... and sometimes I like a big hefty 1" bar.

I also do 1.5" PVC for samples and guest soaps... those are closer to 1/2" thick.

i make a lot of rtcp whipped soaps-so for them i cut thicker
(2 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 1 1/2) .

for regular c/p i cut 1 1/8".

for my 2" round guest soaps/samples i cut 5/8".

i also use slab molds and cut 2 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/8".

i try to make 4.5 to 5.5 oz bars-depending on my packaging. i'm in the middle of developing a better, less costly and time consuming packaging.

it seems i will always be a "work in progress!" :D

I love the crinkle cut too!!
I often alternate between a wire and the garnisher (a.k.a. crinkle cutter) so that one side is flat and one is wavy. Or sometimes I will cut thicker slices with the wire (flat on both sides) and then use the garnisher to cut THOSE into half moons with a wavy edge.

^^^I know, right? Who knew a blade with a lil wiggle in it could make me so happy? :D

Did you see that OHM bar w/the downspout mold? I'm in looooooove!

I thought I was the only person who thought the crinkly cutter was the greatest thing since sliced bread :D

I love it !!!

oh and I cut my soaps 3.5x2.5x1 1/8 usually. I just moved to the 3.5" from 3.25" I thought they looked skinny at 3.25" wide :)

I keep wanting to buy one of those wavy down spouts but I have not quite figured out how I want to seal the bottom. I also wonder how much heat they can withstand (I just started popping my CP in a warm oven for better gel and I LOVE the results).

I've been very creative with my round PVC pipe but I just need to plot and plan and scheme a bit more before branching out.

My bars are 3.5" X 2.5" X 1.25". I used to cut them at a 1" thickness, but I find that I really like that extra quarter of an inch a lot better.

If I stay with my 1" cut then I get 20 bars out of each log - I like that and my customers seem to like that size as well. I did have one lady though who doesn't like such big bars..... :?
