Hi @Saltynuts - that’s some interesting looking soap there. In order to troubleshoot, we will need to know your full recipe with all additives, including FOs or EOs, as well as your process. Without knowing all of that, we can’t help much, if at all. 😊

Hi Al lcop. It is 100 percent canola oil soap. It was a little wet in the shower where that was sitting and that slime for on it.

No sedatives other than the oil lye and water to make it. Thanks.

Ah gotcha. Yes,100% canola can make for slimey soap when wet. But any handcrafted soap will deteriorate if left in wet conditions. You’ll want to elevate the soap on something that allows it to drain, and keeps it away from standing water or shower head water.

PS -No sedatives in my soaps, either. 😜 Darn autocorrect 😂

Haha thanks Allcop! Will that soap also develop on commercial soaps like Dove or whatever? Or they do things to prevent it? Like add seditives. :p

Commercial soaps can have other sedatives, er, additives that help them withstand wet conditions. They are also made much, much harder (thus more impervious to water) by the mechanical milling process and the removal of glycerine.
