I’m going to start early making soap for the holidays and have decided to put some labels on my bars for family and friends. I’ve used regular white print paper in the past but I don’t want to go that route again. Does anyone know how if there is a transparent film that can be used in my printer? Then, I can just make them the size I want and cut them out and attach them to the individual bars some way, maybe with shrink-wrap.

You can buy clear labels. Go to advanced search and type in "clear + labels". It will bring up a lot of posts in which you'll find supplier suggestions and tips on using them.

If you are using a laser printer, make sure you are using labels made for Laser not the ones that are supposed to be good for both as they can ruin your printer - ask me how I know

labelsbythesheet.com has wonderful crystal clear laser labels :) I've been using them for years and they are very economical for the home crafter or small time soap seller :) And perfect for those of us with impulse control issues ;) you can get any size you want and buy 1 sheet or a million ;)

Well, by reading all the tips on transparent labels, it seems the best way to go is to use a laser printer which probably doesn’t have the tendency to smudge or smear
….I don’t have a laser printer…mine is an older HP inkjet but is an excellent printer. So I guess what I’ll do is do some trial and error with printing them and then spray a little Krylone plastic over the dry ink. This seems to be getting into something more complicated than just staying with my white labels and using my shrink wrap over them.
Thanks for the tips,
Jerry :)

labels by the sheet has inkjet clear labels, too :) just make sureto let them dry completely before touching them. No labels will be 100 %smear perfect without a laser but inkjet waterproof ones DO work well if used properly. They ship first class if you order less than 10 sheets so its worth buying a few to try out if that is what you want to go with :) heck, 2 sheets will be just around $5 or $6 with shipping if you just want to try them out :) I'd say its worth it... they are clearer than the ones you buy at office supply stores and generally cheaper, as well.
