Happy Holidays everyone! I have some unscented liquid soap that I dilute for a foaming soap dispenser. I would like to add a scent to it but the soap is water based so I don't know whether a fragrance or essential oil would disperse correctly. There are some crafter's choice water based "fragrance oils" that say they can be used. Here's a link, for example: https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/products/water-soluble-lemon-zest-fragrance-oil.aspx

Does anyone have experience with this, because I've never used something like this before? Or suggestions/recommendations about scenting a liquid soap? For this purpose, I won't be making my own liquid soap because I have this one on hand, so looking for suggestions. Thanks.

I added a bit of lavender EO to a KOH liquid batch I made while diluting it for a foam dispenser. I've never found a scent left behind so I just added a few drops to make the washing experience smell a little nicer.

Once settled after mixing, It seemed to work fine. I never found this in the dispenser, but I got some white goop at the top of the diluted soap in the master bottle. Mixed and stabilized fine, had to repeat with the each refill.

You're adding oil/dirt to soap. Bringing the work to the soap as it were. Like superfatting liquid soap. If the oil is not saponified, it's oil in water. Or, dirt in soapy water. The more you add, the less clear the soap will be.

Water based is a standard for soap I think ;)
