Filled gift boxes for ladies in the church. I've got 3 left to make(unless I've forgotten someone lol)

I put assorted shower steamers, foot scrub, bath salts, soap sack, and a bar of soap. I hope they are enjoyed.
Those look great, @Nonnie - I’m sure the recipients will be delighted! 🥰

Wow, your packaging is a work of art. The church's merry gentlemen may get dismayed.... :)

I think this jar is perfect, but it needs a bow. 🎀 These shower steamers are scented with BB Wild Rose FO and a wee bit of Rose Otto essential oil. I used a formula that has a little bit of clay as well as cornstarch. The lighter ones are colored with a little bit of mica and Rose Clay and the darker ones are colored with (more than intended) Rose Clay and mica. They’re for the Tea Rose lovers in my life.

I did pretty well making them except for not completely drying the molds when I washed them for the second, lighter pink batch.

Love the hearts! And yes, a wide ribbon/ bow would look so good!

That’s so cute! I love this so much, I might be borrowing this idea.

I have a question about steamers. I love using the 1 ounce pucks. They fit perfect in my tubes. But, I find thateven these small ones last longer than a shower, and can be hard to break apart. Has anyone used snap bar molds, or any other mold with smaller breakable pieces? This is a pic of the ones in tubes.

Love those tubes!

For my shower steamers, I use the smallest mooncake presses. If I fill the press completely, the steamer will last for two showers. If I fill it half-way, it lasts for just one shower.
I love the look of the moon cake press. The round packs i do now are similar in size. I just fought that press too much and would getaggravated loo

Oh yes, that is the main reason I procrastinate with making shower steamers. My handpress machine works so much better to make pucks like the ones you showed... they just aren't as pretty or as small. I suppose I could get a small mold for my press machine and try that. LOL always something more to buy!!

After a long day at work, and not enough energy to actually make something, it was a good time to prep some ingredients for making stuff later.

First up were some oil infusions: one with arnica, and another with calendula. These are part of my varicose vein lotion that also contains several different extracts and EOs. Getting the infusion started was the first step to replenishing this lotion, which has really helped. Those darn veins haven't disappeared, but they have visibly diminished since I began using this, and no new ones have appeared.

Next up was using a spice grinder to powder some freeze-dried fruits from Walmart. If one were going to eat them as snacks, they are ridiculously expensive for the small amount in each pouch. For use in this Fruit Smoothie Lip Scrub, however, these pouches are much less expensive than buying identical fruit powders from the recommended ingredient supplier and paying to have them shipped. I've made lip scrubs before, but not with this recipe, and not with fruit powders or the recommended Lorann flavor oils. I'm looking forward to giving this a try!

On a completely separate note that has nothing to do with bath and body stuff, I also painted a pair of brown leather boots using Angelus Leather Paint. This stuff is amazing! It's an acrylic paint for leather that has no smell, leaves no brush marks, and cleans up easily off hands (and ahem, hair). :p

I have always liked the style and fit of these boots, but the particular brown of the leather was just bleh, and didn't match anything else I owned. So, when my favorite black boots finally bit the dust, I had nothing to lose by painting the brown ones black. Honestly, it was super easy, and they turned out great! The week before last, I also painted a lavender leather purse. It was an expensive name brand and in great condition, but not a color that works for most of my outfits. I'm so thankful that I took a gamble on painting it black, because now it's perfect.

Sadly there are no before pictures; you wouldn't believe they are the same boots and purse. All this for about $20 in paint, foam brushes, acetone (for removing the protective coating), and sealant - way cheaper than buying new boots and a new purse!

I use the same freeze dried fruits for this recipe and grind them in my dedicated coffee grinder then sift them with a fine mesh sifter. They work great. The my favs are Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, or Peaches & Cream (since it has coconut milk powered, the name works).
Would love to know which fruits you use and your thoughts on them, @AliOop 🥰
