I just tried my first two color batch but when I tried to removed the soap from the mold, the insert pieces didn't come out with the rest. Did I let the first color sit too long before adding the second color?

Layers basically....think the memory ribbon molds? I did the ribbons one color then let that sit a day and then did the second color for the base of the soap. The two parts didn't separate cleanly but essentially it looked like the second layer didn't solidly adhere to the detail piece.

I use goatmilk and soap pretty cool (90-100) and I don't insulate my molds. They usually set up to a soft/solid level within a few hours. I usually let them set for 24-48 hours then pop them in the freezer for a few hours and pop them out.

Did you put this one in the freezer after you poured the next layer? If so, I bet that's the problem.

Yes, after the combined molds had sat for 48 hrs I popped them in the freezer to loosen the molds. I did NOT freeze just the first part.

Okay...after removing all the molds, I've decided that I definately just let them set too long between colors....trying again tomorrow
