I wanted to make an olive oil heavy soap so I would have plenty of time to play with colors. I normally use 15% cocoa butter. I figured my recipe at 80% olive, 20% coconut oil at 1% excess fat. Then at trace, I added an equal mixture of .4 oz each avocado oil, sunflower oil, rice bran oil, she butter, and cocoa butter along with 1 oz heavy cream to make 7% excess fats. I did not water discount the recipe either.

Do you all think that it will harden up? It is so soft. ImageUploadedBySoap Making1378349448.083263.jpgImageUploadedBySoap Making1378349474.734202.jpg

If u calculated right and its truly 7% superfat.. I don't see why it wouldn't.
Why all the oils later though? Even if you add with your recipe it will do the same for you. :)

Just playing around with my recipe. Thanks!!

If Castile will harden, it may take awhile, there is no reason this recipe will not. It may take longer than what you are used to, I'm not sure. I have never made one with that much olive, but I have made soap with all liquid oils and it hardened.

It should be fine.

Did you gel the soap?

Did you take a water discount?

If you did both of those things, it will firm up faster.

Yes, it'll be fine. Actually, it seems like a very nice recipe. It probably will take some time to harden up though, and I'm sure you will like it a lot more after a good long (6 month) cure. You can use it before that time, but it will get much better.
There's really no need to add oils after trace. At trace, the lye is still active and hasn't bonded with any oil in particular. Next time, you can just throw them in with your other oils.

Oh, the colors are lovely! Please do post a cut picture
