Sigh...

i've googled and searched the site and cant find any info on this.

I made some balms about a month or two ago. 4 dif flavours and 4 dif batches. I have had them stored in tin pots and in a zip lock bag. Its winter here and not humid.

I opened them today and 2 flavours are sweating really bad, and 1/2 of the other flavours are too.
I noticed a while back that some of them had crystals in them too.

I use:
olive oil
coconut oil
castor oil
shea butter
beeswax
stevia (suspended in coconut)

Could it be the castor?

Any thing I can do to save them? - or bin them :(

Thanks :)

Were the balms still warm when you capped them? I cool mine in the refrigerator for an hour and let them sit uncapped for a few hours more to make sure they are as cool as they can get. I have gotten sweating from capping warm balms.

They were set befor I capped, maybe not cool enough?

I have however found the term 'Syneresis' which seems to happen to lip balms, but all the info I can find is science talk and I dont understand it

It seems to be related to temps? Its freezing here at the mo, I wonder if thats it? Or is it related to do with the crystals/blooming?

Many thanks!
