Soap base for shampoo?

Hi all! Has anyone tried using a soap base melt and pour for shampoo bars? I've been using Stephenson shampoo base, but it's getting so expensive since it has to ship from the UK. I'd love to find a cheaper option, and I have a ton of Shea Butter soap base. Can I use this?

The ingredients for the shampoo base I would imagine are very different to a melt and pour soap base. Is the shampoo base syndet? The melt and pour will be lye based - and you can read all the arguments for and against lye based soap used as shampoo by searching the forum.

Yes, it's the Stephenson syndapour.

who is your supplier? there are a few US based suppliers that carry Stephensons soap.

With shipping, the best price I could find for Syndopour last summer was from New Directions Aromatics.
