SMF November 2024 Challenge - Hello Yellow!

Well, I just made the mistake of looking at the competition entries today. Wow! And, @McKherring Farm , that buttercup mica is trippy. I also got orange while mixing so I kept adding more and more mica and getting more and more orange. But after gelling, it was a nice yellow instead.

I know, right!!?? I couldn't believe how orange it looked at first.

@Zing and @McKherring Farm I was hoping someone would use one of the morphing yellows so that everyone could see that it is not uncommon for that to happen, and to not panic when it does. FWIW, Lemon Drop from Nurture doesn’t morph in soap batter.

So I'm wondering if gold mica counts as yellow it kinda looks beige in my CP soap.

I guess if the gold looks more yellow than tan it will be okay, but the challenge is really to use something that is yellow, and there are lots of options to create a yellow color. But I do understand that getting supplies is difficult for you right now with the postal strike in Canada and I really want you to be able to take part in the challenge.

@Ford your yellow color is gorgeous, and your springy soaps are very pretty I think you will really enjoy using them in the cold, dark months of winter.

Oh actually I'm lucky I have a really nice yellow I love using for my 50% yellow but I'm mixing gold as one of my colors and wondered if I should include that in my percentage of yellow your right it's definitely a tan color. So I guess I won't include it in the percentage Thank you! P.S. my stuff should be here tomorrow.

The fates have worked against me this month. I tried to get yellow today and ended up with orange. We'll see what happens tomorrow when I unmold.

The annatto infusion I used three weeks ago turned orange. It's still very orange. Very pretty, but very not yellow. I hope your orange turns yellow!

Edited to add: All the entries are beautiful! The yellows are so sunny and cheerful. Only one more month until the days start getting longer...

No, it is 1 liter. The smaller ones are only 500ml so they make the big pitcher look larger than it really is. I make fairly small batches of soap.

Just found that one. No reviews. Shipping not free. Not sure what plastic it's made of. Still thinking of getting 2
