Hi everyone!

The cold season is upon us here in Islamabad and so perfect for soap making! (We had such a sweltering summer!) I have been dying to make @Zany_in_CO 's No Slime Castile Soap. My son made a mistake when buying the oil – we had planned to purchase Olive Oil (here it is called Extra Light Olive Oil, I think) but he bought this mix of pomace + EVOO instead. Would this be OK for the Castile soap? If so, do we need to tweak the recipe? Sorry if this is a silly question but soap calc lists only EVOO or pomace. I'm not sure how to go about using this blend.

That's fine. I did a 100% Olive Oil soap swap in 2005 with 9 particpants. No two participants used the same OO. They all saponified equally well. No worries. And good luck!

Hi, I have not used pomace olive oil. But read it accelerates trace. Would that be something. To keep an eye on?

I used pomace and it traces fast, so you have to be quick if doing swirls or intricate designs. I don't use it anymore because it's more expensive to buy.

Maybe no stick blending. Just a whisk may help? I do not know pomace. But do know acceleration. Lol
