Hoping someone can provide recommendations for a pattern/pattern designer. I am a novice crocheter and really want to make a hat with a ponytail hole in the back. It just needs to be a simple hat as I will primarily wear it to the barn.
Just as with soap recipes I know not all pattern designers create good patterns. Any recommends for good pattern designers are appreciated. Thanks!

Do you want a hat or a beanie type one, I've crocheted plenty of beanies but without the hole, you just have to skip a few rows and maybe about 4 stitches for that.

Thanks @Relle, just a beanie type. I know it shouldn’t be too hard. I really do need a pattern though. I have made a few simple things but my skills are not great.

Leave it with me, will find one and put up some links, they are very easy, I use US terminology, so can help if necessary

@Relle just wanted to thank you again for the support. I made a hat! This pattern popped up a couple weeks ago as a sale on Etsy. When I had trouble with it I looked on her website and found it’s also a free pattern. I had a few bumps in the road, more than a few ripped out stitches and it’s definitely not perfect but it fits and is just fine for the barn. The next one will be better. https://www.crochetitcreations.com/mainstream-ponytail-hat-crochet-pattern/

Plenty of free patterns out there, just think you can now make one new colour for every day of the week.Variegated yarn makes the hat look good without worrying about having to do a design.

I knit but have never gotten the hang of crocheting - nice job!
