I've never tried it in soap. However, my general understanding is that when using in CP soap, you're probably best not to spent money on the really expensive oils as it takes a large quantity to make a significant difference in your recipe and then there's no guarantee how the lye will eat up all the good stuff in the saponification process.
Even if you were to try to do the 'add at trace' idea, lye is still extremely active at that time. So there is no way to ensure that the lye won't react with whatever oil you add at trace as opposed to if it had been added to your base oils.
With olive squalane, I'd suggest looking at swift's blog (
http://swiftcraftymonkey.blogspot.com) where she'll give you all sorts of ideas of how to use it in lotions and other products where you'll retain the good properties of the oil in leave-on products as opposed to soap which washes off.
