Hey, y'all. So much to learn and figure out. I have a question about matching mold size to recipe. If, for example, a mold says it is a 3lb mold, does that refer to the weight of the entire soap batch or just the fats? The reason I ask is that the SoapCalc website speaks of the weight of the fats in the recipe. It made me wonder if that is the weight used when deciding what is appropriate for a mold.

To figure out the volume of your mold, multiply length x width x height, then multiply that number by .4. This will give you the amount of oils to use for your batch.

So... 10 1/4 in x 2 3/4 in x 3 3/8 in x .4 = 38.3? What are the units of 38.3?
