Even though I'm not crazy about the fragrance (hoping it will tone down some?) I like how it looks. I am hoping this one won't crumble when I cut into it.

I have decided to call it "Champagne Dessert"

I did a blend of Cherry Almond (which i'm not crazy about, ergo the blend) and Champagne (which I love love love love love).

Oh, that looks lovely!! So much that I want to do, hehehe!

Thank you! This is, obviously, my first mica swirl. I have no idea how much oil I used, maybe a tablespoon? And about 4 scoops of the gold mica, stir stir stir and then drizzled on the top and swirled with a chopstick. The cherry almond FO accelerates so I had to kind of clump it into the mold so at first that mica swirl kinda sat on top. I took this pic about half an hour after and the oil sunk in and that mica blends perfectly into the top. I admit I was a bit worried but I hope it looks just as pretty tomorrow.. I'm hoping to cut it tomorrow but I'm not going to rush it again.

That looks great, and the scent sounds yummy. It will most likely mellow out in a week or so.

If your first soap crumbled when you cut it, it may have been too hard. Don't wait quite as long to cut this one and hopefully it will go better, would be a shame to lose such a pretty swirl.

How long ago did you pour it? Did it go through gel phase? I've only ever gotten a cracked top when my soap overheats. It was still good soap though.

I poured it just before noon, it's 5:30 now. Also, I soaped low, but not RT this time... around 105 f

Ever since I started using my wooden log mold I have been dealing with overheating of my soaps and cracking of the tops. Some are barely noticeable while others are not very appealing. I am going to have to start clearing a space in the fridge so I can control this.

When i didnt know any better, my wooden molds frequently cracked my soap. I couldnt figure out why my tops were cracking. I googled for an answer and that is how i came to find this forum... so, yay to cracks!!! That was before i started soaping at room temp too so Im sure that didnt help things either.

This is in a silicone mold. I can't imagine it overheated... I just hope it doesn't crack more than it has
