My first soaps :)

I have been soaping about a month now, and here are my soaps:

The very first one:

Lavendel, rose and tropicana

Vanilla and peppermint, also made some soap balls for the next soap and bath cupcakes

And the last one i made, today cut it:

Can anyone tell my why there are some many lines? May it be too many alcohol? Also i used fragrance tha supposed to change my soap brown. Can anyone tell is that going to happen when it cures?

If a supplier said the FO will discolor, it's probably going to be worse than what they warned lol. Discoloration doesn't always happen immediately, some are very gradual, so with this one you may see it happen over the next 6-12 weeks.

If you look around the Chocolate Dots in the bottom soap, you may see a kind of a "halo" effect... I am pretty sure these are the lines she is talking about.

I am not sure what would cause this, though a lot of alcohol certainly could do SOMETHING to the chemistry around the dots... but then again, so could the difference in pigments, possibly different oil profiles or the FO used in the dots.

Wow! Just stunning for someone who has only been making soap one month! All of them. The swirls are lovely. In the second picture, soap on right (red, green, off-white), what method did you use? Column swirl without the skewered effect?

I must admit I'm a little lost regarding the alcohol. Did you coat the brown soap balls with alcohol before placing in the soap? I do see the lines, but its neat looking.

Yes, that is exactly what i meant. In my vanilla-peppermint soap there is also some stripes but there i didnt use alcohol and some bars have even a little holes (filled with beige gel kind of thing). I think its the fragrance that didint mix well, but im not sure. Must take a picture and post it here.

I also did it with my friend and it was such a fun

Yes i sprayed balls with 80% alcohol before putting them in my base soap.

I wasn't aware that you had to spritz embeds with alcohol when soaping CP? Thought that was more of a Melt N Pour practice?

I have heard that some spray them with alcohol even with cold process. Maybe im gonna try next time without alcohol.
