Hi everyone I've been making soap for 2 years now and I've been writing out all my labels on cute pieces of paper with a pen lol 😂 . (So embarrassing). So I'm feeling like I want to learn how to label and package my soaps and stuff properly. Well I found a program on the internet called Canva to help me make labels for free and I finally figured out how to use it well enough to make some labels. My problem is I can't figure out how to print them for free it says to print with Canva click here and then it wants to charge me like 40 bucks and it says fast delivery so I don't understand how to print my labels. I'm also wondering what kind of printer would be the best to buy for soap makers to make labels. If someone has advice for me I'd really be happy I'm kinda stuck trying to figure this out all by my self.

I remember the handwritten label days, and am so glad I moved over to Avery.com. It’s not as fancy as Canva, which I have a few friends that use it but I don’t. I can attest that Avery is free, and works for me since I buy Avery labels.
Sorry I'm feeling confused Avery is free but you buy Avery labels. So does that mean you have to buy the label paper or stickers from Avery and then you can print for free. Sorry I no nothing about computer's or printers although I have a laptop and I'd like to buy a printer and learn how to print my own labels I just have no clue what I'm doing and it took me hours and hours to figure out how to make a label on Canva ha ha lol I'm going to go look up Avery. Thank you much

You have to choose "download" instead of "print with Canva." You can download as an image file or a PDF.

If you made one label, download as PNG and import into a program to print a whole page of labels. If you made a whole page of labels in canva, download as PDF and it should be ready to print .
Oh thank you so much @artemis I have been downloading them and emailing them to my mom to see what she thinks but I never thought to print them that way I'm not good with computers this is all so new for me. Lol lol😂. I still need to buy a printer too. @dmcgee5034 thank you my new friend I met this week she knows how to use Avery and she's going to come over next week to show me how to use it.

I use Canva for my Body Butter and Scrub labels. I create my image, download as a .jpeg, then import it into Microsoft Word. Word has templates for all kinds of labels. You can purchase (waterproof) blank labels (like Avery), which normally comes in sheets (search by size). The label will have a style #. You'll need that # to pick the right label format in Word. It still seems a bit cumbersome and I'm sure there's an easier way, but I ran across the same issue you had! Also, I found label templates from Etsy. These are pre-designed labels with borders, text boxes, etc. which has saved me so much time.

Printer: Canon PIXMA G7020. On sale now for $229.

Hope this all helps. ❤️

I keep my soap labels pretty simple.
Greaseproof deli paper around the soap and then regular printed paper as a sleeve (I think I fit 4 per page long ways).
A (Fiskars SureCut portable paper trimmer, 12") is a must. Trying to cut a straight line with a scissors almost killed me!
Then I use one or two glue dots underneath to close.
Cheap, simple and green.
