Well, this is what happens when you try out a new mold and you arent quite sure how much it will hold. I scrambled to find things to put the rest of the soap in so it didnt go to waste. I may end up rebatching it or chunking it and putting it in another batch.

Oh and for those of you wondering, the soap is 50% Lard, 23% OO, 22% CO, and 5% Grapeseed oil. At trace I added tea tree oil (i will admit, I never measured I just poured some in) and 2tbsp of honey.

Today I realized how much I hate the smell of tea tree oil

Yep, I have scrambled a number of times to get my soap into something, anything at the last minute. Watch out for those prescription bottles-they aren't flexible and you might not be able to get soap out.

Yeah, I doubt I will get the soap out of them. If I have to i will try cutting them off.

Go to Michael's and go into the cake decorating section. You'll find a brown silicone little brownie bite mold for $9.99 (find a coupon before you go and get it for even less! like half off...) This is great for leftovers and you can use them to give away as gifts or little samples. They are also great for scrub cubes or mini lotion bars.

I love mine so much I'm thinking of actually going and buying one for ... brownie bites.

Otherwise check at Target around Valentine's day and they have silicone cupcake molds for $2.50 that are great for extras. It looks a lot like the mold you are using in the picture.

Thanks Tasha for the ideas. I may have to stop by Michaels and look at the brownie bites tray. There arent any Targets in Canada just yet, they should be here by 2012 though. I may also look at the candy molds they have at Bulk Barn.

Heheheh I think we've all done that at least once.

Just leave the soap in there until it shrinks. Could take quite a few weeks but it will.

If you put that larger plastic container in the freezer, chances are you'll be able to pop the soap out with no problem. Then let it come to room temperature before cutting.

I got great silicone multi-cavity molds from Target too last spring. Hearts and rounds for about $2 each.

I save yogurt cups, cream cheese containers and other little containers for just this reason!
