@Vicki C , I am pretty positive I know the answer, so I didn't really want to ask, but I'm going to ask anyway. I don't have any CP shreds but I have some M&P soaps that I've had for a year, don't like, and would be happy to shred up. Do the shreds have to be CP or can they be M&P?
I think it’s fine - I think that the intent of the challenge is to get a fresh start in 2025 by using up some soap you made that isn’t sparking joy for you, whether it be cold process, hot process, or melt and pour. The rules don’t specify so I’ll add that it’s ok to use up old melt and pour soaps.

@Vicki C I have a question on this:

You may not create embeds (i.e. long pieces that run the length of your soap).

If an embed was made with confetti, would that be allowed?
I’m not sure I understand - do you mean forming confetti into a long embed? Or clumping confetti into balls to make embeds, or something like that? I think the rules are pretty loose, the idea is that the confetti is sort of unplanned, if that makes sense. If you have an idea and want to message me that’s fine. 😊

@Vicki C , thank you!! no excuse now!
I’m thinking about shredding melt & pour and wondering if it will retain its integrity in soap batter - feel free to try, or you could try just cutting it into cubes or chunks. Here’s a pretty “sea glass” soap, I think it might be all melt & pour but hard to say for sure. The pieces are a little bigger than what I would call confetti but I like the transparency of the blue and green with the opaque white.

Sorry for the confusion. Pouring batter containing confetti into individual molds, and then using those confetti soaps as an embed in a new soap (with or without confetti) is what I was trying to say. And while I'm asking also pouring batter containing confetti into a column mold to make an embed, then putting that into a loaf.

I don't have any attachment to this idea whatsoever, so it's fine to say it's outside of the rules. It's something that popped into my head.
