I am going to infuse calendula petals into rice bran oil . Dont have a crockpot for this so doing it on stove top. What is a good temp. to maintain for this process. Need to maintain temp for 2 hours.

Just watch it for burning. Calendula will burn easily and you will end up with burnt smelling oil. I usually just heat it up, pour in a jar and leave it for a couple of weeks to infuse. I would certainly keep it below a simmer. I am assuming you are use dried calendula. I have not tried using fresh flowers without drying them

I infuse my OO for about 3 hours on the gas stove top. I do not have a double boiler so I just make my own with a small pot and a heat safe glass bowl. Fill the pot with a little water and rest the glass bowl (containing your botanicals and oil) on the pot. Make sure the water does NOT touch the glass bowl. Bring the water to a very very low simmer. Even 20-30 minutes check your oils to make sure you're not burning them or that your pot is not running low on water. Enjoy the wonderful aroma as the calendula fills your home!

You could also place the rbo/calendula mixture in an airtight container and place it in a sunny spot and shake it every now and then until you want to use it. No chance of burning.
