I finally got the clue... *facepalm*

Never, ever, ever, do anything that has to do with making soap if you are feeling especially clumsy. My beautiful 18 in log of wonderful smelling soap landed upside down on the floor this morning after the paper lining broke while taking it out of the mold.

Thank goodness it didn't have a fun, decorated top going on or I would have really been devastated. As it is, I can salvage about 3/4 of the log.

I'm sorry to hear you dropped you loaf. Thank goodness it was not raw soap, that is always scary to me.

I get the dropsies some mornings, worse is if it happens on the weekend when I can make soap. I get so upset, but realized to wait until I feel better to even begin to try. Nothing like dropping an entire bottle of EO on a hard floor.

Oh, I upset an entire soaps fragrance oil over the weekend when it slipped out of my gloved hand. I'm 0-2! At least it wasn't lye, right? lol!

You are so right. May have been frustrating, even expensive. At least it wasn't dangerous!

Oh no! Both soap and a fragrance oil! I would be so frustrated! I am sorry to hear about your dropped loaf, sounds like something I would do.

Sorry to hear about your soap mishap. I am always worried I am going to drop my lye water or something. I kind of hate having to wear gloves. They don't feel natural and thats when I worry the most when I am wearing them.

Haven't had any soaping spills but once I dropped my pouring pitcher full of hot cinnamon wax all over my kitchen floor. Of course I had already colored it cinnamon red and red was everywhere. Takes forever to clean up a full pot of splattered wax. But my kitchen smelled delish!

Last week I was having a crummy evening and spilled half of one of my oils pouring it into my mixing pot. In the same batch, I realized I had looked at the wrong number measuring my lye (luckily it was a lower number so I just made up the difference) and forgot my FO until after the soap had started to set in the mold. But I've learned my lesson: I don't soap when tired and grumpy. :yawn:
