oohhhh!!!! They are lovely! So smooth and creamy!!! Congratulations! Can't wait to hear about what you have in mind next!!!

Way to go!!!

actuallly you reaaallly dont have to wait a month to try it, i have used my bard as soon as ive taken them out of the mold (24-48 hrs) after making sure they arent lye heavy with a tongue zap test :)

maybe im just impatient ;)

Thanks guys... What is the tongue zap test? I am actually leaving for a week on a cruise this coming Friday, so I am pretty busy and I can keep my mind off of my pretty little soap bars... I will have to think of what scent I will make next. I don't think I will use lard next time, the thought of it bums me out. I used a 3 inch PVC pipe for a mold. The batch filled three twelve inch lengths of the pipe!

Hello,

I wonder too, if the mold had been insulated if it would have helped the gel stage, and would have made the soap harden a bit quicker? I use a towel to wrap and insulate the non-milk based soap molds.

I tossed the pipes in the freezer for a few hours and just pushed them out. I just used a big sharp knife to slice them.

Two more quick questions: :D
Did you grease the insides of the pipes? and how did you cap the ends?

No, I didn't grease the inside and I bought the temp caps at Home Depot, they were yellow and flat. I taped them to keep the soap in the pipes while it was liquid.

I have to say that this soap came out awesome! I gave a friend at work a bar and she just told me it was all gone and she would love another... It creates such a nice lather... I tried a recipe weighing everything and didn't like it anywhere near as much as this recipe.
