Good morning failure. Making some confetti soap for this month’s challenge. The chunks were too hard and wouldn’t cut on the cutter. I used an older soap that I had forgot to put the lard in. Guess you can’t fix stupid! 🤣🤪 I didn’t really like the color contrast anyway!

Awww bummer! I like your colors - great contrast.

Two things that can help when using older soap for confetti in a new soap:

1. Soak it overnight in distilled water to soften it, then
2. chop it into smaller pieces that won't be as prone to breakage when cutting.

I didn’t think of that. I didn’t have trouble with a different one, but those bars were extremely hard because I forgot the lard when I made it. I should have shredded it instead. Not sure what color I would get on a rebatch.., or if the hard chunks would keep form, but soften. Looks like a mad scientist day!

Ok, decided to melt it down. The “mosaic” pieces did not melt so maybe they will stay in tact. Tried to sprinkle some gold mica on top. I liken it to drywall mud, you should have stopped at the last pass. But no, you had to do one more pass!
