Hello there! I’m a beginner soaper from San Francisco and have been experimenting with melt and pour and more recently cold process. My boyfriend has taken an interest in soap making too. After making a few batches and running into problems like holes and texture issues (see pics below) I’ve decided to stop lurking and join this community.

Looking forward to learning more!

Welcome, Jessa!

If you let us know the recipe you used and how you went about making it, we can help solve your dilemma. :) Just start a new thread over in the Beginner's section about it.

Thank you IrishLass! Will do

Welcome to the forum. Maybe the holes and craters are due to pouring at too thick a trace. Try pouring into the mold at thin trace, then gently bang the mold down on a firm surface several times.

Welcome, Jessa! I am a California gal myself, born & raised. I lived most of my life just south of SF although I did spend my earliest years up Eureka way. I do miss the West Coast and the smell of the salt sea air.

Hi Earlene! Thank you for the warm welcome. It's nice to see a fellow Northern California girl here :)
