Hi There ALL
Im new newbie to Soap making and already hooked having made my first batch of CP soap on Saturday. :D
I have found you lovely lot and thank goodness I have while searching for help with the curing process stages of my first batch of cold process soap.

I am a Hemp and natural skin care specialist in the UK. Natural skin care is my passion, and until recently I avoided soap due to severe skin reactions to various chemcials in skin care products. But I couldnt resist the draw of natural CP soaps, and how very different they are when used on the skin compared to commercial brands.

So here I am wide eyed and eager to learn a new skill.
Oooo I love learning new things especially when they are good for the skin and environment.

I have many probably daft questions Im sure, and from what I have read on the forum so far I will not feel afraid to ask here. :D

Welcome to The Forum! I just did a batch of hemp soap all for meeeeeeeee! It's scented with Amber, Sandalwood & Patchouli.

Hemp is a really nice oil for soaping with.

hi there and welcome!

there's been a great bunch of posts made thru the forums. at the top right of your page you can click on "search" and key word whatever, and it will bring up all posts regarding goatsmilk, or shea butter, etc. we also have forums on recipes & tutorials and bath and body.

i've spent many pleasant hours going thru the posts made from the beginning of the forum and moving forward.

happy soaping! it's a devine addiction!

Hi SoapieCP
I'm also from the UK, doesn't seem to be many of us around.
You'll like it here, everyone is very friendly :)

Hi Lomondsoap and thank you all for the lovely welcomes. :D
I can see my looming soap addiction growing to an obsession.

I thought I would never find another passion outside hemp seed oil and natural skin care, but here I am and I can pleasantly immerse myself in both at the same time too.

Ooooo xxxxx Happy bunny I am I am

Hi there,
Ooo I can feel the addiction getting to me, I neeed to Sooooaaaapppp

I am still waiting for the first batch to finish curing *biting nails with nerves*
The thing is that although this batch is hardening up nicely it still has a gel like circle in the centre and I am concerned that this will not go away. I also have no idea why its there???

Actually though looking back at the pic above it does now look a little less obvious than it does in the picture. But it is still clear that the colour isnt even . Does anyone know what causes this?

I have been reading tons of blogs about CP soap making, some say to wrap the soap really well with towels, others say there's no need.

Any ideas why it needs wrapping, and what might happen if I dont?

Sorry for my newbie questions tried searching but still rather bemused, I will get the hang of this I promise. I must feed my growing addiction ya see.

xx
