I've been lurking and reading for six weeks or so, and posted for the first time the other day, but haven't yet introduced myself, so here goes!

I've just started making soap. I made about a batch a day for a week, because I was having so much fun I just went crazy. I then had a whole lotta soap. So guess what everyone got for Christmas?

It all started with me wanting to use the lavender in my garden to make a gift for my dad. The first batch was lavender-infused olive oil and coconut oil soap, and that went so well I proceeded to rosemary-infused olive oil and coconut oil soap. And then I branched out and started using some castor oil, and some canola, and tried a batch of straight Crisco, and played with some cocoa butter, and then tried my hand at some goats milk soap.

So, so far the inventory is lavender; rosemary; carrot; cedar and seaweed; double chocolate brownie; cucumber; and goats oats and honey. I haven't tried any fragrance yet, other than the infused olive oils (and the cocoa and chocolate, which did give a chocolaty smell), but I bought some EOs the other day, so that's my next plan.

I'm keen to make more soap, but am holding back because despite the Christmas gift-o-rama, I still have quite a number of bars on hand. Oh well, I don't suppose you can really have too much soap!

When I'm not making soap, I'm traveling or kayaking or riding my horse.

Welcome surf girl from another Canuck!! :D What part of Canada are you in? Your name hints coastal as does your kayaking.....

BTW when do we get to see pictures of your soap babies?

Cheers
Lindy

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys.

I'm on Vancouver Island - definitely coastal!

Oh, I should take pics of the soaps, shouldn't I? I'll have to do that one of these days...
