I all glad I found this forum. I have started making body lotions and hope to be able to sell them and one day give up my day job. How is everyone doing this cold winter night?

It took me a very long time, lots of testing, $$ and sending samples out to check for APC count at the lab before I was comfortable selling my lotion.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I started "making" lotions only a couple of months ago, nothing spectacular. Not sure about you guys, but I am so fed up with my 9 to 5 job that I am willing to put in as much as I possibly can to make a decent living out of it. Still at the trial and error stage though!. I feel that with the right support and guidance, it is possible. Soapboady, how long did it take for you to be comfortable enough to do it commercially?

I envy you guys the courage you have to make your own lotions for sale. I'm too chicken. Still using pre-made base for that, but I'm waiting for some free time after the holidays to play with making a face cream for myself. Have you ever sent any of your lotions for testing Abijay? I was wondering what sort of cost to expect for the testing process.

Thanks very much for that, Soapbuddy. It gives me a sort of time frame to work with. I do not expect it to be easy, but then one has to make the effort. Helpful to be communicating with a more experienced person. @Bakingnana, no I have not sent any sample in for testing. Soapbuddy is the best person to ask.
